It’s funny! When I look at this photo, I can barely remember this moment. However, my family and nurses remember it, especially my mom. She remembers how sunny it was outside and which nurse we were with.

I will forever be grateful for my heart transplant donor and their family because now I get to make a lifetime of memories I will be able to remember due to the life saving gift they gave me.

Now, how can we raise awareness about organ donation?
1. Promote organ donation
2. Learn the facts.
3. Sign up to be an organ donor.
4. Talk about your decision to friends and family.
5. Include donation in your advance directives, living will and end of life documents.
6. Support local organizations and events.
