Matt Brewbaker was born with a congenital liver condition and in 2019 received a life-saving liver transplant at our hospital. He shared his story this week during a flag-raising ceremony recognizing Donate Life Month.

“I like words but I am at a loss for them to adequately express my thanks for my donor and donor family,” Matt says.

Last year in Iowa, 123 organ donors provided 350 organs for transplantation, with an additional 1,027 tissue donors providing help for many on the list.
