Yesterday marked five years since my sister Kathleen (Neen) Rock left this world. But in doing so, she saved the lives of at least five people through organ donation. (She had already saved at least a couple people’s lives in the past through her willingness to take action.) A brain aneurysm took a most wonderful, loving person from the world but she was able to give new life to several strangers. It is perfectly fitting to her character that her last action in this world was to help others. Neen was an amazing and beloved person. A gifted @iatse and @actorsequity stage manager for over 30 years. She was kind and wonderful and quietly a hero and inspiration to more people than she could ever have realized, including me. She was my big sister, nearest me in a big family, for the first few years of our lives we were like twins doing everything together. Neen Is gone but her gift has helped other people live. How great is that? With luck, her memory will be a blessing to help me and my family and many others live a better life by her example.
