When Zsófi began her senior year of high school, she had no idea she was living with advanced #liverdisease. By her first semester of college, her condition had worsened — and she needed a liver #transplant to survive.

Thanks to living donation, Zsófi didn’t have to wait. In a rare and remarkable procedure, doctors at Cleveland Clinic used a minimally invasive technique to remove a portion of her mother’s liver and transplant it into her daughter.

They recovered side by side. They walked the hospital halls together. And in the months since, they’ve continued building strength together — even crossing the finish line at a marathon with their family just over a year later.
