We are devastated by the loss of our beloved Heera Singh Daspa, a wonderful athlete, an enthusiastic sportsman, and a kind human being whose spark touched everyone around him. A proud gold medallist for the Indian Transplant Team, Heera lived life with passion, positivity, and purpose.

Diagnosed with chronic kidney disease at a very young age, Heera remained optimistic and deeply grateful to everyone around him, especially to his unmarried younger sisters, whose selfless organ donation gave him a second chance at life.

From Pithoragarh, Heera represented his district and Uttarakhand in cricket and went on to excel in multiple sports. He won a gold medal in Javelin Throw at the World Transplant Games 2023, making the nation proud.
Heera believed and lived by the message that “life begins rather than ends at organ transplant.” He will be remembered for his energy, warmth, and love for sport.

The ORGAN India Team and all the athletes of Team India extend our deepest condolences to his wife, daughter, sisters, parents, brother-in-law, and entire family.

We will miss his spark greatly.
