“Anna-Louise Bates has a special bond with little Roman who she says has a “magic heart”.

This is because it is, in fact, her son Fraser’s, who died after being hit by a car a decade ago.

It is also 10 years since a landmark organ donation law was introduced in Wales, aimed at increasing the number of donors.

But with one academic suggesting it has had little effect, Mrs Bates says she wants to see more done to break the taboo, in order to help others in need of a transplant.”
