💚 On December 10th 2025, I achieved a lifelong goal—I donated my kidney to a stranger. And best of all, it went to a child.

This is something I’ve wanted to do for decades, and finally making it happen feels so surreal and frankly amazing. Recovery has been going smoothly, and I’m feeling strong thanks to the incredible support of my husband and friends. Im even going back to work tomorrow. I really could not have done it without the support of all of the amazing people in my life, and the help of the amazing staff at The University of Chicago Organ Transplant Team.

Even as an hEDS patient, the staff was never afraid to help me achieve this goal. Additionally, the whole staff went the extra mile to learn so much about EDS that by the time surgery day came, I knew I was in great hands.

Over 100,000 people in the U.S. are waiting for an organ transplant at any given time, and organs from living donors have a significantly higher success rate for the recipient, however finding living donors is extremely difficult. If you’ve ever wondered about the process, I’d be happy to share my experience and answer any questions. You can truly save a life just by sharing your spare!

It sounds crazy to say, but I will be entering 2026 with 2 fewer organs than I started this year with. 🤣

This holiday season, my heart is so full. 🎄✨💕
