💚 Meet Paul Rice – January’s Mission Monday Spotlight 💚

Paul Rice’s journey with kidney disease began in 2002 after a severe case of streptococcal pneumonia revealed an autoimmune disorder attacking his kidneys. Over the years, his health steadily declined, and in 2023—after battling COVID—Paul reached stage 5 kidney failure.

That same year, Paul received an incredible gift of life. His daughter, Tiffany, was a perfect match and selflessly donated her kidney, allowing Paul to avoid dialysis. The transplant, performed in August 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, gave Paul renewed strength, energy, and hope.

Today, Paul is once again facing serious challenges. His autoimmune disease has begun attacking the transplanted kidney, placing him back in stage 4 renal failure. Despite the setbacks, Paul remains grateful for every day, for his daughter’s life-saving sacrifice, and for the second chance he was given.

Paul dreams of one day becoming a registered nurse once his health is restored—so he can give back and help others walking a similar path.
