I’m proud to have been part of such an informative, inspirational, educational and at times, emotional @nhsorgandonor study day in Surrey.

The morning was dedicated to sharing and advising on best medical practices, allowing clinical staff to update and inform colleagues on the process of organ donation.

The afternoon was dedicated to patient stories from both donor families and recipients.
I’m very humbled to not only understand more of the medical and clinical journey that has made my heart transplant possible, but also hear directly from two donor families, Jay and Raji, about their decisions to donate.

Transplant can only take place if families understand and know the wishes of their loved ones. I hope that by sharing my story as a recipient, understanding the incredible difference organ donation makes to people’s lives, will only inspire others to #register their #decision and make their wishes known.
