I am always thankful to my organ donor, whose unselfish gesture improved my life in ways that words cannot explain.
.
I reflect on my first-year post-transplant, recalling the restrictions and concessions we all had to make and customising things to my physical abilities. My outings were limited to short walks, and I was constantly aware of my surroundings.
.
But now, 5 years later, when I bask in the sunset light, I can’t help but remember and thank my donor. I can now wholly enjoy life’s pleasures, such as breathing in the clean, cool coastal air that was before out of reach.
.
Their gift has given me a new lease on life and added a sense of independence and vibrancy to our family gatherings.čî┐
