Got a beautiful call from my dad today.

He told me he’s heading to San Diego… to get a kidney. It’s happening — he’s officially in surgery. The day he’s waited for so long has finally come.

That today is Veterans Day is not lost on me. My dad, our family’s veteran, is receiving the gift of life on this special day.
