At just 13 years old, Naomi DeBerry of New Orleans is making national headlines — and saving lives along the way.

Naomi was the only girl from the United States chosen for Time Magazine’s “Girls of the Year” list, honored for her advocacy around organ donation. Inspired by her dad’s successful kidney transplant, Naomi wrote a children’s book called “My Daddy Needs a Gift” to help other kids understand the transplant process in a way a coloring book never could.
