As we celebrate Daan Utsav, we honour the life-saving gift that transformed Mohammad Wasim Khan’s life. Hailing from Bihar, Wasim, a heart transplant recipient, received his new heart at AIIMS Delhi in 2020.

His journey began in 2015 when he was diagnosed with an enlarged heart, enduring years of hardship. After a six-month wait, his life changed forever when he received a heart from a deceased donor.

Today, Wasim thrives as an electrician in Mumbai, staying active and healthy through sports. Recently, he won a medal in a race at the Transplant Games in Kochi, exemplifying how the power of ‘daan’ can truly save and reshape lives.
