Yale New Haven Hospital achieved a major milestone having recently completed its 750th liver transplant procedure.

“Reaching 750 liver transplants is a testament to our team’s expertise and unwavering commitment to patient care,” said Hiroshi Sogawa, MD, surgical director of Liver Transplantation at Yale New Haven Hospital and professor of Surgery at Yale School of Medicine. “Every transplant represents a life saved and a family restored. We are proud to offer advanced techniques and compassionate care that make these outcomes possible.”

Nearly 106,000 people in the United States are waiting for an organ transplant. Options for organ donation are living organ donation and/or deceased organ donation.
