A tragic road accident in Abu Dhabi claimed the life of M. Baburajan, a 50-year-old Indian expat and goldsmith from Kerala, just days before the New Year. He was struck by a high-speed e-scooter near the World Trade Centre while heading to work and was later declared brain-dead after surgery.

In an act of remarkable courage amid overwhelming grief, his family chose to donate his organs through the Hayat National Organ Donation Programme. Though the tragedy occurred before the New Year, Baburajan’s legacy continues beyond it—his heart, lungs, liver, kidneys and pancreas have saved six lives, turning loss into lasting hope.
