🌟 A Day of Hope and New Beginnings! 🌟

October 11, marked a milestone for the Alliance for Pulmonary Hypertension with the official launch of our “Wheels of Hope” campaign — raising awareness about organ donation in celebration of the European Directorate for the Quality of Medicines & HealthCare (EDQM) and the Council of Europe’s European Donation Day 2025. 🚴‍♂️💚

We were honoured by the presence of many distinguished guests, including Prof. Alberto Felice De Toni, Mayor of Udine; Dr. Roberto Peressutti, Director of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Transplant Coordination Center; Mayors Ornella Baiutti (Cassacco) and Renza Baiutti (Colloredo di Montalbano); and Barbara Jannis, Councillor for Commerce, Tourism and Services in Tricesimo.

Also in attendance were representatives of ADO Luigi Bulfon (organ donor association) and AFDS Claudio Geretti (blood donor association), as well as many friends and supporters !among them Nicholas Favalli, a young athlete who recently cycled 10,000 km to the northernmost part of Europe and back! 🌍

The heart of today’s event was Lukas Jakovec, who set off from the beautiful Villa Gallici Deciani where he has been living and working for the past year and a half on his inspiring 9-month, 9-country cycling journey back to his hometown of Prague. Lukas will be carrying the message of hope, organ donation, and solidarity across Europe, reminding us all how one person’s courage can ignite change. 💙

Representing the Alliance’s members, Campaign Ambassador Pisana Ferrari was there to cheer Lukas on and wish him well as he began this incredible adventure.
