8 years ago today Daniel, the son of one of our founders Louise, received the greatest gift one could ever receive – the Gift of Life ,and all thanks to his Auntie Carolyn.

Louise shares the difference a transplant has made to her gorgeous son, and pay tribute to Daniel’s Consultant who suddenly, and sadly, passed away earlier this year:

“8 years ago while Daniel was undergoing his kidney transplant surgery, we were left wondering what life that night would look like, what would the next day bring?

I honestly still cannot believe the incredible difference to his life that his transplant has made. 8 more Christmas Days, 8 more birthdays, 8 more years of being his Mum.

There never will be enough words to thank his Aunty Carolyn for his gift of life. She is a real life hero.

This year it also feels right to remember his amazing Consultant Dr Ian Ramage who suddenly and very sadly passed away earlier this year. I have Ian and his team to thank for still having my son with us today. Ian is a huge loss to the renal community and we miss him very much..”
